| Introduction | ||
Our modern day lifestyles are as such they dictate an environment of fast solutions to our every needs. Eating, exercise and relaxation have ended up being compromised in the push to keep up the break neck speed of modern day living. As a society living in this fast paced lifestyle we have replaced balanced nutrition with a reliance on nicotine, excessive caffeine and other stimulants for a pick me up, or even just to make it through the day. In addition we rarely have time to cook and prepare a well balanced meal relying on outlets such as sandwich shops, supermarkets and fast food chains to manage our nutritional needs. As a result we often eat too much fast food that is processed, high in calories and usually filled with sugar, fat and salt. With an increase in sedentary behaviour to our lives and our constant consuming in this fashion our society has fallen into some basic dilemmas. |
